09 September 2009 The return of The Courteeners

The Courteeners see out 2009 with what promises to be an incredible show in their native North West in December. The band follow what has been an outstanding 2008 with various live appearances both here and in the States in between sojourns in the studio where they have been demoing and writing new material. Early this year saw them decamp to the US where they were guests of Morrissey on the US leg of his world tour; subsequent shows saw them headline three shows in their own right winning accolades from the US media in the process. The band returned on the back of those shows putting in an incredible main stage appearance at the Coachella Festival.

Meanwhile whilst the UK has been light on live activity the band did return with a triumphant showing at T In The Park and more recently wowed the masses at this year's Reading and Leeds Festivals, road testing new songs into the bargain.

The show on December 11th at Manchester's 10,000 capacity Central Arena (formerly G Mex), captures a band on home turf waiting to career into a New Year weighted with much promise, the second chapter of an ongoing tale and their much anticipated second album.
