15 March 2011 The Darkness return…
Following a 5 year hiatus, The Darkness will make their long awaited return to the world stage on Friday 10th June 2011.
The chosen location for this event is Donington Park in the United Kingdom's West Midlands, where the band will keep the main stage warm for Def Leppard at the first night of this year's Download Festival.
The band’s debut number one album ‘Permission To Land’ was released in 2003 and they scooped countless accolades and awards including 3 Brits and an Ivor Novello award for songwriting. Having sold millions of records worldwide the Lowestoft quarter split in 2006 after the release of their second album ‘One Way Ticket To Hell … And Back’.
Following months of writing and rehearsing, The Darkness are currently locked in an East Anglian studio working on tracks that will become their long awaited third album. Vocalist Justin Hawkins said "We're delighted to be working together on new music. The album is full of songs that make us feel awesome, just like they always did. Being in The Darkness makes us feel special."
