22 June 2011 Pris set for London shows
Imagine the love children of Courtney Love (the attitude, not the rambling mess) and Mark E. Smith (the spite, not the teeth) and throw in the effortless cool of Debbie Harry and the sexy glamour of Mark Bolan. This is Pris.
Remember the days of being locked in your bedroom, angry at everyone and everything, daydreaming about world domination but doing nothing about it? These three angry young women (and man) still feel like that, only they've bothered to do something. Even better, they've taken their rage and ambition, covered it with glitter, dressed it up in lipstick and high heels, trashed it with hairspray and ripped-up tights and added some shiny guitars to make it sound pretty.
Tired of boring bands with nothing to say, Cat, Agatha, Mary and Sam joined forces last year to mix their own brands of attitude, arrogance and swagger into something worth looking at and listening to. Voicing all those things you've ever thought and never dared to say since you grew up, got a real job, bought a house in suburbia and told yourself it was what you'd always wanted in the first place, Pris' sparky pop punk will reignite your rage, bring back your greed for glamour and have you craving cultural revolution.
And if you don't like it, Pris off.
