01 August 2010 Manic Street Preachers - new single and album

‘(It's Not War) Just The End Of Love is the new single from Manic Street Preachers released on 13th September 2010.  Taken from their 10th studio album ‘Postcards From A Young Man’ released a week later, the track is a joyous, euphoric sounding blast of classic pop rock.  The track will be release on 2 x cd’s, 7” and download with brand new tracks across the formats.

The band have also confirmed the track listing for the new record, see below, which features guest vocals from Ian McCulloch on one track (‘Some Kind of Nothingness), John Cale on piano (‘Auto-Intoxication’)  and Duff McKagen playing bass (‘A Billion Balconies Facing The Sun’).   Manics bassist Nicky Wire sings lead vocals on ‘The Future Has Been Here 4 Ever’ alongside drummer Sean Moore on the trumpet.  ‘Postcards …’  is the follow up to 2009’s ‘Journal for Plague Lovers’ but musically very different and more in the vein of ‘Send Away The Tigers’ and ‘Everything Must Go’ with unashamed soaring choruses, lots of strings and gospel choirs.   It was recorded in Cardiff with producer Dave Eringa and mixed by Chris Lord Alge in the US.

Manic Street Preachers will be touring the UK later this year, starting in Glasgow on the 29th September and going through to the 28th and 29th October in London.  Support on all shows comes from British Sea Power.  Details at www.manicstreetpreachers.com
