15 September 2009 Lostprophets new single details announced
‘It’s Not The End of The World, But I Can See It From Here’ is the highly anticipated brand new single from Lostprophets, due for release on 12 October 2009. This is the band’s atmospheric and epic first release from their 10 track fourth album ‘The Betrayed’ set for release on 11 January 2010 which features the production debut of bassist Stuart Richardson. The album is the follow up to the 2006 number one release ‘Liberation Transmission’ which saw the band achieve four Top 40 singles and go on to play an arena tour throughout the UK accumulating in a sold out headline show at Wembley Arena.
The band – guitarist Mike Lewis, frontman Ian Watkins, Lee Gaze (guitar), Stuart Richardson (bass) and Jamie Oliver (keyboards, programming) – debuted the new tracks at this year's Reading and Leeds Festivals where they performed a stunning and exhilarating show when then they headlined the NME/Radio 1 stage. This, and several sold-out club shows was the first live appearance of new touring drummer Luke Johnson. The band will also be playing a Q Awards show in London on the 22 October 2009 and have confirmed two other live dates (details below).
‘The Betrayed’ was recorded in several locations and studios in Los Angeles, with a few false starts where the band scrapped various recordings with different producers. Eventually, a trip back to their native Wales and original rehearsal rooms in Cardiff saw the group re-invigorated and energised and on their return to the US things came together quickly. As previously mentioned, bassist Stuart Richardson took on production and mixing duties (alongside Justin Hopfer with whom he’d previously worked with on Welsh rock act Attack Attack) for the first time.
The band will be playing several warm up shows for the festival and will announce their own UK tour soon.
