03 June 2011 Kaiser Chiefs announce huge hometown show
Kaiser Chiefs are pleased to announce details of a huge hometown stadium show later this year. The band plan to play across the summer at various festivals here and abroad but will return to the UK with another landmark show which further highlights a truly incredible live career to date.
Leeds’ Kirkstall Abbey is the venue and 10th September 2011 is the date. A full supporting cast will be announced soon and tickets go on sale on Friday June 10th at 9.30am. The band have already confirmed some headline shows and festival appearances for summer.
Earlier this week the band made a surprise return by unexpectedly releasing a brand new single ‘Little Shocks’ via their website. The track was premiered exclusively on Zane Lowe’s show on Monday 30th May and was instantly made his ‘Hottest Record in the World’, he even felt compelled to play it twice within half an hour! Unmistakably Kaiser Chiefs, ‘Little Shocks’ is darker and heavier than previous material, with a sublime groove and an infectious finger in the socket guitar riff which builds to a hypnotic anthem. Produced by the legendary Tony Visconti (Bowie, Lou Reed) and mixed by Owen Morris (Oasis, Verve), the song is the first music to be heard from the band’s fourth album due for release later this year.
Kaiser Chiefs are: Ricky Wilson (vocals) / / Nick Hodgson (drums/vocals) / Andrew White (guitar) / Simon Rix (bass) / Peanut (keyboards).
