27 October 2011 French superstar Johnny Hallyday announces first London appearance

Arguably France’s greatest rock star and icon, Johnny Hallyday comes to the UK for his first ever UK live show and will appear at the Royal Albert Hall on 15th October 2012.   The singer, who released his debut single in 1960, brings his ‘Avec  Vous’ tour to this legendary venue where he will perform hits from his half-century musical career.    Called the French Elvis Presley in the early days, he has proven  he has the endurance and talent to be hailed as France's first and only full-fledged rock star and this show will be an extremely rare chance to see this extraordinary artist.

Hallyday, who has completed over 100 tours, had 18 platinum albums and sold over 110 million records has only ever performed in the UK for the filming of a TV show in the sixties.  However, in his native France he enjoyed his latest number one album ‘Jamais Seul’ earlier this year and sold out three nights at the Stade de France on the last tour.  In 2000 he performed in front of half a million people from The Eiffel Tower and 9.5 million live television viewers.
