04 November 2011 Frankie & The Heartstrings announce new single and live shows

Sunderland’s purveyors of pop sensibility Frankie & The Heartstrings are to follow up a packed-to-the-rafters summer of festival appearances with the release of a new single. Produced by Bernard Butler in London last month, ‘Everybody Looks Better (In The Right Light)’ is the band’s first new material since the  their  much-lauded – Top 40  - debut album, ‘Hunger’ earlier this year.

The track will be amongst those songs played out live this winter as they accompany The Vaccines on a twenty date tour of the UK, culminating with a show at London’s Brixton Academy on the 7th December. As an end-of-year celebration, the group have announced their own special home town Christmas show on December 29th at the Independent, Sunderland - details can be found on their website http://www.frankieandtheheartstrings.com.

’Everybody Looks Better (In The Right Light)’ is a 143 second burst of infectious joy, ruminating on the joys of a night out with sly wit and observation running rife throughout - a skill informed by those fellow songwriters they hold close to their hearts. The flip side  is another new track, ‘They Way That You Kiss’, produced and recorded with label mate and friend Ryan Jarman of The Cribs in Newcastle earlier this year.

The five-piece are also hosting a series of Pop Sex Ltd nights whilst playing on the Vaccines dates, with special performances and DJ slots to be announced shortly. Details will be found on their website http://www.popsexltd.com, with events in Manchester and Leeds already confirmed.
