13 October 2009 Bicycle Thieves debut single ‘Stop To Start’

Renowned for producing some great pre and post punk exponents of a musical nature, the city of Liverpool has unearthed another in a long line of successful exports…

Bicycle Thieves have been quietly going about their business since their inception at the tail-end of 2008, building up a healthy word of mouth following in the North West with their breathtaking  and intense live shows.

‘Stop To Start’, the band’s debut single revels in the magnificence of their noir pop. From the  opening salvo they fire a warning shot across the bows with the Chameleon-esque guitar assault before emphatically endorsing the various plaudits with three and half minutes of bloodshot musical brilliance. Backed with ‘Camera Shy’ - it’s a statement of intent that it only makes the B-side - awash with swathes of  guitar and underpinned by a plaintive vocal….literate pop for a new generation!

This summer the band were invited by Emily Eavis to play this year’s Glastonbury festival and have just been invited to go and appear at Dubai’s Sound City in November, meanwhile they have just confirmed a residency at Liverpool’s  Bad Format! Social Club…

Bicycle Thieves are:

Tom Hammersley – vocals / guitar

Ash Hopkins – guitar vocals

James Feltham – guitar

Jim Reynolds – bass

Nick Pickering – drums

‘Stop To Start’ b/w ‘Camera Shy’ is released on November 23rd through Loog Records and will be available on limited edition 7”.
